Alcohol Removed

In 1977, Yaldara Winery obtained a patent for dealcoholisation, and after several generations of development our range is now Australia’s third-generation dealcoholised wine. This technology turns wine into a wine-based non-alcoholic drink that can serve all consumers; with China’s growing focus on health and wellness, microbially fermented, dealcoholised grape juice has strong market potential.

Reverse osmosis—though relatively costly—works by pushing wine through a membrane so water and alcohol (and some acids) pass through while most colour, tannins and flavour compounds are retained; the water–alcohol mix is then distilled to remove the alcohol, and the separated water is blended back with the retained components to create dealcoholised wine.
